The duo Oud Immortel et Accord Oud duo is inspired by the oud. A wood which, because of its use in the manufacture of incense and traditional perfumes, is of great cultural importance. Its existence is recorded in one of the world's oldest written texts, the Veda, a sacred Indian work. When the originally light-colored heartwood of the Aquilaria tree is infected by a certain fungus, it protects itself by saturating its heartwood with a dark, highly fragrant resin. This dark wood, known as oud or agarwood, contains a complex fragrance matched by few, if any, natural ingredients. Show less
