The future is female

MyOrigines had the opportunity to speak with Fleur Phelipeau, a pioneer in the field of nutricosmetics. Fleur grew up in Vichy, where her family ran the thermal baths and exposed her to a holistic approach to wellness.
With this upbringing, she quickly realised the close link between health, beauty and nutrition. This realisation led her to create a personalised nutricosmetic approach that emphasises the link between inner balance and skin health.

Working with the doctors at the Vichy Nutrition Centre, she developed a formula that combines three complementary steps to create personalised programmes. Her passion for providing unique nutritional expertise and cutting-edge, effective products led her to create D-LAB,
a line of powerful formulas that work on the body as a whole. In addition to her commitment to providing the best possible products, Fleur is also an advocate of clean, body- and environmentally-friendly formulations.

5 questions for Fleur

Can you tell us about your background?

I grew up in Vichy, famous for its "teint célestins" water, the first nutricosmetic. In the 1980's, it was known as "Beauty that comes from within". My family ran the thermal and medi-thermal baths and I was immersed in a holistic approach to wellbeing. I quickly realised that health and beauty are intimately linked and directly related to nutrition.

This belief has guided my work and, in collaboration with the Vichy Nutrition Centre, I have created a line of high-end nutritional supplements that complement cosmetic products and improve overall well-being, including digestion, detoxification and microcirculation, leading to beautiful skin and hair.

What advice would you give to women who want to start their own business and follow their dreams?

I would say the most important thing is to know what you want. The rest is easy. First of all, it's important to know what you want, why you want to do it and where you want to stop. It's also important to know when to stop, because when you have success, you grow and grow, and it may not be what you originally imagined.

So I think there are many different paths and the most important thing is to be consistent with what you want and what you are doing. For me, the hardest part is knowing what you want.

Looking back, is there anything you would have done differently?

Maybe I could have gone faster if I had been able to bring in other expertise and skills. But I did everything on my own, which was a bit tiring. But I know it has its advantages. I couldn't go very fast because of a slow start, but I had time to learn everything.

I am happy with where the brand is and what it is doing. There isn't much I would do differently, maybe I would get a bit more help because it was exhausting, but I enjoyed everything. I'm still happy.

What would be your beauty tip?

We need to look at what we're eating and use supplements to help us care for our skin. Creams can protect the skin, but to regenerate it we need to act on cell synthesis by using antioxidants, anti-inflammatories, etc.

It is important to remember that the skin reflects the state of our inner body and to listen to ourselves to understand our needs, e.g. signs of fatigue, pimples, hormonal cycles, etc. Food supplements can help to improve the condition of our bodies internally.

Your must-have products for a busy day?

For my hair, I rely on D-LAB's Absolu Keratin. I start my day with it, it's an absolute must for me. I use the Guerlain Terracotta powder and the Eau de Clarins, although I'm currently using the Eau des Jardins.

I also can't get enough of the new yellow Eau Extraordinaire. Another product I am obsessed with is

the pale pink All Tigers nail polish.
