To ensure your mascara lasts as long as possible, avoid pushing the brush in and out of the bottle. Air and bacteria could penetrate the bottle, altering the mascara and rendering it unusable. Another tip: never wipe the brush over the edge of the bottle. This will prevent the mascara from building up and drying out. Clumps will form on the brush and stick to the lashes. It's best to take the brush out in a single twisting motion, wipe off excess product on a soft cloth and apply mascara in a zigzag pattern. Then replace the brush in the bottle with a rotating movement.
