So what if your beauty and wellbeing routine
were in tune with the changing seasons?

TAKE CARE OF YOUR SKIN

Your skin is unique and deserves the very best care and attention. Apart from genetics, its needs are influenced by internal and external factors:
climate and temperature changes, stress, lifestyle, pollution, hormones, age... the list is endless.
But to choose the right skincare routine, it's important to first identify your skin type: dry, combination or oily.
Normal skin is relatively balanced, with neither dryness nor excess sebum, and is evenly textured with a 'peach skin' effect.
However, it is important to care for it with a beauty routine and make sure it is well moisturised to maintain its elasticity and softness.
Not sure what your skin type is? How can you take good care of your skin? Read on to find out how to care for it!

Dry skin

Is your complexion lacking radiance? Does your skin feel rough, uncomfortable and tight? As the seasons change and the cold sets in, your skin may start to flake off. These are signs that your skin is dry. Dry skin should not be confused with dehydrated skin.

Dry skin does not produce enough lipids, which are naturally found in the sebum produced by the sebaceous glands. So it needs to be deeply nourished. Opt for lipid-replenishing and emollient skincare products enriched with plant oils. They will soften and smooth the skin while nourishing it.

Dehydrated skin is a temporary condition caused by a weakened hydrolipid barrier that can't retain enough water. This condition can also affect combination and oily skin. A hyaluronic acid enriched treatment will give your skin the moisture boost it needs.

Combination skin

Your skin tends to be uneven and shiny in the middle of your face. This T-zone (forehead, nose and chin) produces excess sebum, while the area around the cheeks and temples is normal or even dry. You're combining the characteristics of two skin types, so you have combination skin.

Choosing a specific routine for oily skin would not work for dry areas and vice versa. Your routine should include products that balance the skin's moisture levels and prevent overproduction of sebum in the T-zone.

Don't skip moisturising! Ideally, moisturisers such as hyaluronic acid should be combined with ingredients that regulate sebum production (niacinamide) and tighten pores (acids) to visibly improve skin quality. A purifying mask with clay or charcoal on the T-zone can correct shine and tighten dilated pores. A hydrating mask for the rest of the face will leave your skin feeling comfortable and soft.

Oily skin

Your skin is shiny on the T-zone, cheeks and temples. It has imperfections and enlarged pores. Your skin looks thick and has an uneven texture. These are all signs of oily skin.

This is the result of excessive sebum production, which causes blackheads and pimples to appear. Your skin needs to be rebalanced with skincare products that counteract excess sebum. To cleanse your face or remove make-up, choose specific care products in gel or foam textures.

To cleanse your skin and remove impurities, your best allies are cleansing scrubs and masks, used once or twice a week.

In the morning and evening, it's essential to moisturise your skin with a light day cream or an anti-comedogenic fluid with a non-greasy finish. Finally, to combat shine, choose a mattifying moisturiser that absorbs sebum.
